Body Jewellery Fittings & Removals. And why we don’t just do it for free…

‘‘It’s only a pair of gloves!! I could do it myself!”

When you request a jewellery fitting or a removal you are not just paying for a pair of gloves..

Lets break it down.

Firstly...

You are paying for Steve’s time. Over fifty years of skill & experience in the body piercing industry.

Let’s talk about the time spent behind the scenes…

Tools need to be sterilised in the autoclave after they have been used. The autoclave is expensive to run. There is also the yearly service contract. The charges rise each year… Electricity is needed to run the autoclave, the utility company requires payment for this. And research is needed to find the best utility company to use.

Tools are then transferred into the ultra sonic machine. The ultra sonic requires fresh cleaning fluid added to the water each time. We have to pay the water company for our water supply.

Once dry, the piercing tools are placed into sterilisation pouches & individually heat sealed, all by hand.

Some of the heat sealed pouches are chopped up manually by us. We have to source the materials & order this online. There is often a hefty postage charge.

Finding the best utility prices, water prices for gloves & couch roll etc all takes time spent on the internet, out of hours.

Our internet connection requires a costly monthly contract. We have to search around for the best deal. Again, outside of studio hours.

We have the daily costs of running our studio electricity, water, insurance etc etc…

We have to pay for certificates from the council to be able to pierce you. The price rises time.

The studio insurance needs researching & paying for each year..

The disposable couch roll on the bed…

Boxes of gloves need ordering..

The tissue & cleansing fluid we use to clean the area before we pierce you…

All these consumables bed roll, tissues, gloves etc etc need ordering, this takes time up out of hours.

The invoices we receive for these things also means doing the paperwork which needs entering so this also requires book keeping, which we also do ourselves.

So when you break it all down, it’s not just really a pair of gloves …
